Most seafood dealers/wholesalers who service restaurants can supply Cape Cod and Islands Cultured Shellfish, if requested to do so, but for your convenience we have included a list of licensed Massachusetts wholesalers who have been identified as dealers who carry or who have carried in the past Cape Cod and Islands Cultured Shellfish.  Some of these are located outside of the Cape Cod region and in urban areas.  This list is only a guide, and may not be all-inclusive.
It is provided to give some initial contact information regarding potential suppliers of Cape Cod and Islands Cultured Shellfish.    Please note that some wholesalers are also shellfish growers, others buy direct from growers, and some dealers buy product from other wholesalers.  Dealers may change suppliers periodically, and certain wholesalers will sell only to other wholesale distributors.  Many wholesalers also carry wild-harvested shellfish, and cultured product from other regions of the country.  This other cultured product may look similar to locally grown product.  You must specify that you want only Cape Cod and Islands Cultured Shellfish.  Remember, if in doubt, when purchasing shellfish stock, ask your supplier to provide the original tags which indicate the point of origin.  This will help to insure that you are getting Cape Cod and Islands Cultured Shellfish.
